Second Collection on Jan 27, 2013 is for the Church in Latin America

In union with all the dioceses of the United States, the Diocese of Dallas approach a series of national collections inbuilding up the Church and her people around the world. The first national collection this year (Jan 20, 2013) is to help the Church of Latin America, where in spite of great obstacles, our brothers and sisters in Christ continue on with a vibrant and living faith.

Our Holy Father Pope Benedict will hold the 2013 World Youth Day in Brazil, and as the Year of Faith Progresses, we look to Latin America as an example of vitality in the faith.

Portions of contributions of the national collection for the Church in Latin America (CLA) have gone to efforts aiding the upcoming World Youth Day along with other exemplary projects across Latin America. Programs are at multiple levels, from local to continental, with faithful work in evangelization, lay formation and seminarian formation, as well as youth ministry and cathechesis.
