The St. Jude Chapel community joins Pope Francis in expressing the “deepest feelings of horror and condemnation” over the mass shooting. And together with the Pontiff, the St. Jude Chapel community is also joining the families of victims and the injured in “prayer and compassion.”

In a statement from the Vatican, Holy See spokesman Rev. Federico Lombardi said that the pontiff was shaken and saddened by the “homicidal folly and senseless hatred” of the attack.

“We all hope that ways may be found, as soon as possible, to effectively identify and contrast the causes of such terrible and absurd violence,” the statement said.

Let us all join hands in prayer for everyone affected by this very sad event.
